Holophonix Versions

Holophonix comes in 3 different versions

The Holophonix Processor

Holophonix processors (here the Holophonix Ultra) are designed for use in installations requiring:

• A high number of inputs (sources) and outputs (loudspeakers) (128 inputs and outputs in the base version).
• High stability and robustness (network and power redundancy)
• Low latency (down to 1ms)

Holophonix Native

Native is a software version similar to the processor, but which can be installed on a Mac. Compared to the processor, the Native version has the following limitations:

• A maximum of 16 outputs
• Stability dependent on MacOS and potentially affected by hardware configuration and other software running in the background.

The Native version is also more affordable, making it a perfect solution for studio use or more limited environments.

Holophonix Designer

Designer is a version similar to Native, but without an audio engine. Designer is compatible with MacOS and Windows, and has the advantage of being free.

Projects are fully interchangeable between these three versions. It is therefore possible to create a project in Designer, then import it into Native for sound testing, and then deploy it on a processor in a performance venue.
