Amplitude Panning

Amplitude Panning algorithms simply rely on sound level differences between the loudspeakers of a spatialized sound diffusion system.

Within this algorithm family, two types can be distinguished:

Angular panning algorithms, which are suited to circular or spherical loudspeaker arrays. They are designed to generate a phantom image using a minimal number of loudspeakers.

Distance-based algorithms, based on the distance between the virtual source and the loudspeakers, which offer greater flexibility and can adapt to atypical loudspeaker arrangements (e.g. KNN).
